Privacy policy
Last updated 6 October 2026.
This policy explains how Easyway Constructions Limited, trading as Cell-X Solar (“we”, “us”), collects, uses, stores and shares personal information through cellxsolar.co.nz and when you contact us. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 2020 and its Information Privacy Principles.
Who to contact

What we collect
- Contact details you give us: name, email address, mobile number and property address.
- Property and energy details you choose to share: property type, roof details, electricity use, power bills, future plans and any files you upload (for example a power bill, appliance list or site plan).
- Messages you send us by form, email or phone.
- Technical information your browser sends when you visit the site, such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, which our website host and security tools may record in server logs.
Why we collect it
- To respond to your enquiry and prepare a solar plan or quote.
- To design, supply, install and support your system if you go ahead.
- To arrange connection requirements, such as an application to your lines company.
- To keep records we need for accounting, tax, warranty and legal purposes.
- To improve our website and services.
We will not sell your personal information. We will only send you marketing if you have asked for it or it relates to an enquiry or purchase you have made, and you can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
We share only what is needed with:
- registered electricians and installers who carry out work at your property;
- your lines company and electricity retailer, where needed to connect your system;
- equipment suppliers, for warranty claims about your equipment;
- service providers who host our website and email; and
- anyone we are required to share it with by law.
Address lookup
When you type an address into one of our forms, the text you type is sent to the Photon address search service (photon.komoot.io), which uses OpenStreetMap data, to suggest matching New Zealand addresses. This service is operated overseas. If you prefer, you can type your address in full without choosing a suggestion; the lookup still runs while you type.
Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies needed for it to work and stay secure. We may use analytics and advertising tools (such as Google Analytics or Meta) to understand how the site is used and to measure our advertising. These tools may set cookies and collect information about your visit. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss and unauthorised access, use or disclosure. Some of our service providers store information on servers outside New Zealand; where that happens we take reasonable steps to make sure it is protected in a way comparable to the Privacy Act 2020. We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Contact us using the details above. We will respond as required by the Privacy Act 2020.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
